Andrew Binns
After making big scores for the Sunday XI last season he must now make runs more consistently and take a leading role as a Sunday XI batsman. Opportunity will come his way with the 2nd XI this season.

James Cowens
"Mr Strike Rate" Jammers, is a quick scoring mid-order batsman. Which makes him a 20/20 specialist. Jambo likes to hit the ball over the in-field and when on form has great six-hitting ability. Jammers bowls skidy medium pace. He can swing and seam the ball to good effect. Jammer will get more chances this season to prove himself a "Match Winner!"

Jack Earle
Strike Bowler. Jack has the ability to swing the ball at pace. Each season Jack seems to get a yard quicker. Now at 17 and opening the bowling, this could be his break through season. Jack's laid back approach allows him to be a fairly free scoring batsman. Especially on the leg-side! Some people could arguably discribe him as a genuine all-rounder! Whether or not this is true Jack is capable of creating that "Magic!" ball to dismiss quality batsman and because of this may find himself featuring in the league side this term...

Tom Earle
"T." Top quality opening bat, Tom could also be discribed as a "Millionaire." He seems to be able to afford to play the most expansive of shots! Hopefully he can fulfill just sum of his potential this season and aim for somewhere around a thousand runs. In combination with his slip great catching ability Tom is invaluable to M.C.C.

Gideon Foster
\"Gids\" Ex-Lancashire League side opening bowler. Following his sucsess at Todmorden C.C. Gideon came down to M.C.C. To bowl his quality in-swing. Gids can use his experience to replicate the sucsess we\'ve had for the last few seasons. Trying to take the ball out of Gideon\'s hands will be a challenging task for any captain.
Gideon\'s latter order batting is well capable of slapping bowling round the park!

Kristian Halstead
Olly, Having stepped down as captain and made wicket-keeper. Hopefully he can now cocentrate on the other facets of his game this season. Kris's careful approach to batting makes him an exellent foil to most of the other players in the side. Reliable, Olly can time run-rates and see innings through to the victory. This is how he has concreted his spot in the Royd batting line up! A little known fact about Olly... He took five victims keeping in a Wood Cup Final 1995! Playing for Walsden in the Central Lancashire League.

Spencer Harris
"Spen," is an attacking batsman who doesn't like to waste any time. This makes him really effective in the 20/20 format. Improving every year Spencer will feature in the 1st XI's batting line-up this season. The experience he takes from each game will help establish him in the 1st XI! Top fielder Spen could be tipped for most fielding marks this season!

Jon Lord
Lordy, will take on captaincy this season. Looking to play a back bone role in the batting line-up. Self discribed as a "Flat track bully," he is hoping for sunny weather this summer. If this is to happen Lordy's leg-spin could also be a factor in the dry conditions. As captain Lordy, takes it for granted everybody wants to WIN! Hopes we do exactly that! And that we ENJOY doing it!!! "LIKE SHARKS SMELLING BLOOD"

Talented, The younger of the two Zahid Mahmoods' in the team, is a naturally wristy batsman and when Zahid gets his runs he will seriuosly upset sum bowling attacks. Zahid can bowl both leg-spin and off-spin. His bag of tricks will play a crucial part in the royd bowling attack!

Zeb Mahmood
"Zebby" Three times parish cup man of the match, Zahid has won enough Parish cup and premier league trophies, he has one for each day of the week. Zeb is an attacking batsman and will retain his spot in the middle order this season and also can still generate good pace with the ball off his three step run-up. He has the ability to turn a game in either innines! Royd relies on his experience in big games. P.S. Zeb has not turned up to a game on time since the early eighties!!!!

Danny Murgatroyd
Ability added to a capacity to watch and learn made Murgy the surprise package last season with the bat, making several good scores in the second half. If he chooses to take the opportunity that is there for him he will develop into a very good player. One to watch.

Shahid Rashid
"Shabba" Genuine all-rounder, Rash is a stroke-maker with the bat. He has deveoped his own range of shots to become a formidable player in The Halifax League. Great to watch when on form.
Rash bowls medium paced cutters His mid-innings tight spells will look to play his part in winning games. P.S. Checkout the flick off the legs!

Paul Senior
"Sambo" played a part in the 2007 league side which won the competition. Paul was named man of the match in the final. He now holds a regular spot in the league XI.
Another one of the teams all-rounders "Jono's" medium pace provides variety. Hopfully he can convert his mixed grill of different deliveries into five wicket hauls. Also known for his hard-hiiting Sambo only needs five overs to smash a fifty and put a game to bed!!!

Steve Senior
Once again one of the the leading run scorers of 2008 "Raider's" Grit and detemination make him a great sportsman. Opening partner to Tom Earle. Steve likes to impoes himself on the opening bowlers and also takes a liking to facing spin. Raids, is one of the most agile fielders in the club which puts him in a small select group. As per usual Steve will take no prisoners and take the game straight to the opposition!

Luke Sutcliffe
Last season saw Luke add strength to his stroke making and produce some good scores as an opener. May be asked to fill a roll with the gloves this season. Expect Luke to be among the next crop of quality league cricketers to come through at Mytholmroyd.

Sam Walker
When required he performed with great enthusiasm.
His right arm seam bowling has progressed and he is well capeable of securing a regular spot in the second team. His batting has improved with some major contributions in a strong tail and he has learned the responibility that goes with a place in the league sides
